Video Transcript
- Currently having the best season of his NBA career, Heat center Bam Adebayo was named an All-Star for the second time in early February. Appearing in 54 of Miami's 59 games, the six year pro was averaging a career high 21.6 points to go along with 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 35.4 minutes, shooting 54.4% from the field and 80.5% from the foul line. Those numbers have been good for top 25 per game value in nine [? card ?] formats, and he was just as good during Miami's last six games before the break. With point guard Kyle Lowry sidelined for each, Adebayo pushed his assist average up to 4.7 per game during this stretch, while also accounting for 21.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks, shooting 55.3% from the field and 87.8% from the foul line. The Heat certainly need Lowry back if they're to have any chance of advancing in the postseason, but Adebayo has proven more than capable of shouldering more of the load in the meantime.
