The following events are planned for the upcoming week throughout the region:
• The Santander Performing Arts Center, Reading, ushers in Halloween weekend with a screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” hosted by Barry Bostwick, who portrayed Brad Majors, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The event features the live shadow cast Sweet Translucent Dreams, audience participation, a memorabilia display and costume contest. On Saturday, the Fab Four takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. for its tribute to the Beatles. And on Tuesday at 7:30, Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famers Cheap Trick take the stage in support of “In Another World,” their 20th studio album. • Universal Pictures is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its Classic Monsters on Saturday with a double feature of the original “The Invisible Man” and “The Wolf Man” at select theaters. The signature adaptation of H.G. Wells’ “The Invisible Man” stars Claude Rains as a mysterious scientist who discovers a serum that makes him invisible. He soon realizes, however, that the same drug which renders him invisible is slowly driving him insane and capable of committing unspeakable acts of terror. In 1941, “The Wolf Man” introduced the world to a new Universal movie monster and the mythology of the werewolf was redefined forever. Featuring a heartbreaking performance by Lon Chaney Jr. and groundbreaking make-up by Jack Pierce, this story of a cursed man who transforms into a deadly werewolf when the moon is full has not only become a masterpiece of the horror genre, but of all time. • SoulJoel’s Comedy Dome, Royersford, hosts a Comedy Showcase and Roast on Friday at 7 p.m., featuring Chris Roach, Mark DeMayo, Dennis Rooney, Buddy Harris, Missy G. Hall, Dan Callahan, Kunal C. Arora and host James Mattern. Then for the final shows under the dome before moving to a new location, Gilbert Gottfried will perform Saturday at 6 and 8:30 p.m. The first show is sold out. • Shocktoberfest haunted theme park, located at Willow Glen Park, Sinking Spring, is open Friday through Sunday this weekend, plus Nov. 5 and 6. Ticket booth hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 5 to 9 p.m. Sundays. The grounds and food and drink stands open at 5, and the attractions open at 7. Attractions include Zombie Safari Hayride, Unknown 3.0, Prison of the Dead, Midway Massacre and Ground Assault. In addition, Club Shock will host a Halloween party on Friday from 7 to 11 p.m., with entertainment by KONO Nation Band and DJ Tuaca Ted. Tickets for the Halloween party cost $20. • The Colonial Theatre, Phoenixville, hosts the scary movie marathon A Nightmare on Bridge Street 2, featuring screenings of “Beetlejuice” and “Trick or Treat,” on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. Hosted by Blobfest’s Dash Daring, the evening will also include cartoons, surprises and the unveiling of the new Home of the Blobfest T-shirts. • Spicy Records presents Mega Show PA, a night of Latin music featuring Dalex, Archangel, Justin Quiles, CJ, El Alfa and more, on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Santander Arena, Reading. Tickets start at $79 at ticketmaster.com.
• Sellersville Theater presents the Springsteen tribute act Bruce in the USA on Thursday at 8 p.m., the U2 tribute show Unforgettable Fire on Friday at 8 p.m., Livingston Taylor on Saturday at 8 p.m., The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra on Sunday at 2 p.m., Dennis Quaid on Sunday at 8 p.m., and the Airplane Family performing the 50th plus one year anniversary of the Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kanter’s masterpiece “Blows Against the Empire.” For tickets, visit st94.com.

• The Reading Science Center will hold its 1st Birthday Bash on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will include hands-on experiments, giveaways, birthday cupcakes, candy, and more than 40 hands-on exhibits. Admission is free for children who come dressed as their favorite scientist; for all others it is $8. Validated parking is available at the DoubleTree by Hilton garage.
• The Dove Award-winning Triumphant Quartet will perform Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. In 2019 the quartet received a Dove Award for their album “Yes,” voted Gospel Album of the Year. They also were voted Artist of the Year by Southern Gospel News three years running in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. • 118 North’s Tailgate Under the Tent series of free outdoor concerts at the Wayne Picnic Grove presents Chestnut Grove with Wallis on Friday at 6 p.m., and an ’80s Dance Party with DJ Frankie Who on Saturday at 7 p.m. Perkiomenville-based Chestnut Grove is celebrating the release of its first full-length studio album, “The Album,” available at chestnutgrove.band. • Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board and King of Prussia Mall have announced the debut of the first Arts Montco Wall, featuring original works of art by Montgomery County artists, on display in the connector corridor of the mall, between Mind Games and Kendra Scott. • The Los Angeles-based contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC performs Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Miller Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College. • The Phoenixville Harvest Festival runs Thursday through Sunday at various locations. On Friday, the Colonial Theatre will present a screening of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial” at 7 p.m. On Saturday, a family-friendly Fall Festival with craft vendors, food trucks, trunk or treat and live entertainment will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Reeves Park. And on Sunday, Pints & Pups with beer, wine, spirits, live music and adoptable rescue animals will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Main & Bridge Street Parking Lot.
