As a last act of his internship with UMSL Athletics, Grant Beckmann was at the University of Missouri–St. Louis shooting b-roll of the campus’ outdoor sites for a promotional tour video earlier this month.
Beckmann, who graduated with his BSBA, minors in digital and social media marketing and music, and a Pierre Laclede Honors College Certificate this weekend, has been an active participant in campus life throughout the time he spent working toward his degree. He’s worked and performed at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center, worked in the Welcome Center as a Triton Leader and tour guide and been Louie the Triton for the past year.
A non-traditional student, he’s grateful for his UMSL education and to be graduating at age 25.
“UMSL was a great choice for me,” he said. “Aside from the academics, which were rigorously challenging, I lived with my family five minutes from campus and was fortunate enough that my scholarships covered all of my tuition. Age is no indicator of potential. If you can dream it, you can do it.”
This photograph was taken by UMSL photographer August Jennewein and is the latest to be featured in Eye on UMSL.
