With coronavirus social distancing guidelines in place, Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10, is going to look different this year in Philly, making it more important than ever to plan ahead in order to give moms a memorable day. Restaurants all around the Philly region are here to help.

Many spots are selling special Mother’s Day brunch and dinner dishes for takeout and delivery, some with add-ons like wine, board games, and ice cream. Several restaurants and local shops have food gifts available too.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Fond
At this East Passyunk Avenue eatery, co-owner/pastry chef Jessie Prawlucki-Styer is making ready-to-reheat Mother’s Day specials, including quiche and French toast bread pudding, each $22. There’s also devil’s food cupcakes, red berry shortcake, and house-made chocolates. Call 215-551-5000 by Wednesday, May 6, for pickup on Saturday, May 9, or Sunday, May 10. Another option is to order from the restaurant’s pop-up food market, which will be stocking cinnamon buns, lemon poppyseed pound cake, and other pastries and breads.

Pumpkin
South Street’s petite BYOB Pumpkin has found success during the shutdown with a daily three-course dinner to go. Now it’s offering its first-ever brunch in honor of Mother’s Day. The menu is a la carte and includes a $14 coconut polenta cake, $16 beet-cured gravlax, a $12 chilled pea soup with black lime, and $28 scallops with tabouli. Stove and Tap
In Lansdale, Stove and Tap’s Mother’s Day brunch box includes scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and fresh fruit. It feeds four for $45. Cadence
Kensington BYOB Cadence is serving a Mother’s Day brunch designed for two for $65 with roast leg of lamb, potatoes, shakshuka, fruit, and spiced date teacake. The Twisted Tail
Southern restaurant Twisted Tail on Headhouse Square has added a few Mother’s Day specials to its brunch menu, including $29 country ham, $29 roasted salmon, and $37 prime rib. Fiore Fine Foods
For a $15 minimum order, bring mom some of Fiore’s coveted pastries, like pistachio cornetti, bomboloni with vanilla cream and rum caramel, savory spring herb scones, or a whole coconut cream pie. Order online in advance for pickup on Sunday, May 10.

Terrain
In Devon, Terrain’s $175 Mother’s Day brunch package comes with a ready-to-heat meal for four, a hibiscus iced tea–making kit, and a journal. Brunch features bread, salad, quiche, roasted salmon, a puff pastry, potato pave, chocolate chip cookies, and cinnamon rolls. A few add-ons include a rose bouquet, funfetti pancake mix, a mimosa kit, lavender lemonade, bloody mary mix, and sangria. Talula’s Table

Hawthorne’s
Bella Vista brunch standby Hawthorne’s recently reopened for takeout and delivery. Its $50 Mother’s Day brunch package includes three courses for two people. The first course is booze: a choice of sangria, mimosas, or bloody marys. Then come the sweets, including cinnamon rolls and banana bread. The savory course features a frittata and a breakfast enchilada casserole. Ice cream pints ($9) from Franklin Fountain are also on offer. At The Table BYOB
In Wayne, At The Table is offering large-format brunch and dinner items that serve four people. Brunch features a $65 smoked salmon platter and a $30 French toast casserole. The Olde Bar
Jose Garces’ Olde Bar in Old City has both Mother’s Day brunch and dinner packages available. Brunch goes for $45 a person and includes yogurt parfaits, mini-bagels with smoked salmon, goat cheese quiche, salad, potatoes, and deviled eggs, plus apple cobbler for dessert. Dinner is $60 a person and includes prime rib, bread, potatoes, vegetables, and cherry cobbler. Dishes will be chilled and ready to be reheated. Cry Baby Pasta
Along with its regular menu and bottles of wine, Queen Village’s Cry Baby has a list of Mother’s Day specials available. The options include an $18 prosciutto frittata, a crab cake for $12, two bake-at-home cinnamon buns for $8, and a $7 Oreo cheesecake slice. Order online for pickup or delivery on Saturday, May 9.

A.Kitchen
Chef Eli Collins has a few Mother’s Day specials planned in addition to A.Kitchen’s usual menu, including a whole branzino for two for $62, a $50 French fish stew for two, and, for dessert, four sticky buns for $12 or $6 slices of brown butter rhubarb cake. Bibou
The $45 tasting menu at Bibou in Bella Vista features seasonal French fare with green pea soup to start, a local, free-range chicken breast with morel mushroom sauce and basmati rice, chocolate pot de crème, and a coconut macaroon. At Fork in Old City, Mother’s Day means an elegant three-course meal for $55, available throughout the weekend. Iron Hill Brewery is offering curbside pickup for brunch and dinner at locations throughout the Philly region (Ardmore, Chestnut Hill, Huntingdon Valley, Media, North Wales, Phoenixville, and West Chester in Pennsylvania and Maple Shade and Voorhees in New Jersey) For brunch, there’s a $16 broccoli and cheese quiche for two that comes with fresh fruit and the option to add a dozen cinnamon rolls for $10. All dinner entrees — ham, salmon or rib eye — come with salad and roasted vegetables and serve two to four people for $26 to $40. Up for a bit of cooking? Positano Coast
Old City’s Italian food mainstay Positano Coast has two Mother’s Day packages that serve two to four for $55 or $135. Each comes with pasta, vegetables, potatoes, and tiramisu. The $55 menu also includes eggplant parmesan, while the more expensive one comes with antipasto and a choice of pork osso buco or beef tenderloin. The Bourse
Four vendors at the Bourse food hall in Old City teamed up to put together Mother’s Day gift baskets. The package includes Grubhouse’s bloody mary mix and vegetable quiche, ground coffee from Menagerie, chocolate chip and blueberry muffins from Scoop DeVille, and a felt flower from Art Star. It’s $82 including delivery and tip. Order online.

Thirsty Dice Board Game Café
Fairmount’s board game cafe created a $22 “Mother’s Day comfort crate” with ingredients to make French toast with fruit compote and a side of turkey sausage. Upgrade it by adding a mimosa kit and a family-friendly board game. Order online for pickup or delivery on Saturday, May 9. Bonus: The cafe’s online store also sells assorted groceries and toilet paper.

Old City sushi spot Tuna Bar, recently opened for takeout, is selling sushi-making kits just in time for Mother’s Day. For about $50 a person, each kit comes with tuna, salmon, crab, vegetables, wasabi aioli, sauces, a rolling mat, and chopsticks. Forsythia
At Old City’s Forsythia, $100 gets mom a gift basket full of French goodies, including a bottle of chardonnay, black truffle Champagne jam, pistachio pistou, chef Chris Kearse’s duck spice (a mix of fennel seed, coriander, Szechuan peppercorn, and lavender meant for seasoning duck, chicken, and pork dishes), sheep’s milk cheese, and garlic sausage, plus tulips and a $20 gift card to the restaurant.
