CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Attributing the strength of the do-it-yourself (DIY) maket, Sherwin-Williams Co. reported third-quarter results that bested analysts' expectations.
The Cleveland paint giant (NYSE: SHW) reported that net sales increased $255 million, or 5.2%, to $5.12 billion in the quarter from a year earlier and adjusted earnings per share rose to $8.29 per share in the quarter from $6.65 per share in the third quarter 2019.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters First Call expected sales of $5.08 billion and earnings of $7.75 per share.
