Warning: This story contains spoilers from Season 3, Episode 6, titled “Scavengers,” of “Star Trek: Discovery” on CBS All Access.

Thursday’s episode of “Star Trek: Discovery” was sealed with a spectacular kiss.

Since the Season 3 premiere last month, fans have been “shipping” — that is, pushing to romantically link — initially antagonistic characters Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Cleveland “Book” Booker (David Ajala).

In attempting to answer the question “Will they or won’t they?,” fans have fixated on the characters’ “hot” chemistry and noted their “real ‘bonding with the first person I meet’ energy.’” One fan already proclaimed that their potential pairing was better than Burnham’s prior hookups with “whatshisface” in Seasons 1 and 2. (That would be Lt. Ash Tyler, played by Shazad Latif.)

Trekkies have even gone so far as pondering what the pair’s combined name would be. (Bookham? Burner? Bookburn!)

So, will they or won’t they? Fans got their answer Thursday.

The latest episode, titled “Scavengers,” saw the return of galaxy-hopping courier Booker, as well as his faithful, furry co-pilot, Grudge. Burnham went on a rogue rescue mission to save Booker from a heavily guarded Bejoran salvage yard. She was successful, of course, although actions do have consequences: In the episode’s closing moments, she was relieved of her duties as the USS Discovery’s first officer by Captain Saru (Doug Jones).

But, hey, things are looking up for her elsewhere post-mission.

“Thank you for saving my life,” Booker tells her as they stare deeply into each other’s eyes in a turbo lift back on Discovery. “Glad I found you,” she responds, with him adding, “We always find each other.”

After an aborted interstellar snog when crew member Linus (David Benjamin Tomlinson) accidentally beams into the stopped elevator, the lovebirds share an intense, much-anticipated lip-lock as a stirring orchestral soundtrack of stringed and woodwind instruments swells in the background.

It’s like a scene from “The Young and the Intergalactically Restless.”

Of course, it’s not like the romantic possibilities were ever as cloaked as, say, a Klingon warship.

“There’s definitely a spark when they first meet,” executive producer Michelle Paradise told The Post before the show returned on Oct. 15. “In the premiere, they quite literally crash into each other, and in the first meeting they are fighting, so right away you know sparks are flying. In Season 3, their relationship will evolve and they will learn from one other and from those around them.”

So close, and yet so far, until now: Sonequa Martin-Green as Burnham and David Ajala as Book.

At the time, Ajala also shared with The Post that the characters would have to rely on each other.

“They have to put each other’s lives in the other person’s hands,” he said. “When you’ve been through something like that with someone — especially someone who’s a stranger — I think you just form a much deeper connection without knowing it.”

Ajala also coyly teased the duo’s amorous options: “Throughout the season we’ll see that these two characters will certainly challenge each other — and hopefully bring out the best in each other. I’ll say that much.”

It looks like fans may finally get their wish for these intergalactic lovebirds to engage at warp speed.
