DETROIT -- As if taking a pizza and folding it over to create a calzone wasn’t enough, Detroit-based national pizza chain Little Caesars has launched its latest creation, the Crazy Calzony.
“Our pizza visionaries have been working on this innovation for months,” said Jeff Klein, chief marketing officer at Little Caesars in a press release. “I’m eager for customers to finally get the chance to taste the cheesy goodness of one of our most exciting products yet.”
The Crazy Calzony is part pepperoni pizza, part pepperoni calzone, with the edges of the item in the form of a calzone and the traditional pizza in the middle. The calzone is stuffed with garlic white sauce, mozzarella cheese and julienne pepperoni before being sprinkled with parmesan cheese. For those who don’t like pepperoni, a cheese option is available.
The dish is served with the company’s signature Crazy Sauce and retails for $8.49. The Crazy Calzony debuted Monday and can be ordered online for pickup only right now. Starting on Aug. 23, the Calzony will be available daily from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. during the Hot N’ Ready hours at participating locations.
The Crazy Calzony is only available for a limited time.
