Highlights
Lubbock Christian University won their fourth consecutive five-set match, and the win was their second consecutive match to go five sets, as LCU edged out St. Edward's 3-2 by winning the fifth set 15-13. LCU produced a whopping 13.0 team blocks in the win, led by eight from Hannah Froeschel, who also led LCU with 13 kills. Froeschel, who hit .306, was also aided offensively by Aaliyah Gray (11 kills), Sage Post (11 kills and a .526 attack%) and Sage Chain (10 kills). Jalee Sims completed a double-double with 48 assists and 18 digs. SEU had a 71-56 advantage in kills, as Kaitlyn Krafka led the team with a match high 23 kills. Halle Sanders (17) and Maya Smalls (13) also combined for 30 kills for SEU. The Hilltoppers lost despite a trio of double-doubles. Krafka had 23 digs to go with her kills, Emily Tran had 62 assists and 16 digs and Sanders logged 17 kills and 10 digs.          
           
How It Happened

Set One:
LCU let a 10-8 lead slip away in the first set, as SEU went on a 7-1 run for a 15-11 lead. LCU trailed until a timely 5-0 run turned a 22-19 deficit into a 24-22 lead. Froeschl had a pair of kills and a block in the 5-0 run, and LCU on the set 25-23. Froeschl led LCU with five kills. LCU produced 15 kills in the first set, with 14 of them assisted by Sims. SEU was led in the set by Krafka, who had seven kills.     

Set Two:
The score was tied on 10 occasions in the second set, which featured seven lead changes. Trailing 16-13, a Froeschl kill started a 5-1 run for an 18-17 LCU lead. SEU pulled away on an 8-2 run to secure the set 25-20 and tying the match.  Krafka produced six kills for SEU, while LCU's Sage Chain led LCU with four kills.

Set Three:
Leading 13-11 in the third set, LCU began to pull away, Two consecutive points off serves (ace by Zoe Parker) turned into a 12-4 LCU run to win the match 25-15. LCU had 6.0 team blocks in the set, with Froeschel leading with 4.0 and Sims recording 3.0. Sage Post led LCU in the set with four kills.
 
Set Four:
The script was flipped in the fourth set. Following a Chain kill to cut LCU's deficit in the set to 9-8 SEU went on a 6-2 run for a 15-10 advantage. The Hilltoppers closed the set on a 9-2 surge, which included a 6-0 stretch at the end for a 25-14 set win to force a fifth set. SEU had an 18-9 advantage in kills in the set. They hit .375, with Tran, Smalls and Sanders each with four kills.
 
Set Five:
The chase to 15 had six lead changes. Neither team had more than a two-point lead. Trailing 11-10, LCU called a timeout. They responded with a kill by Post, followed by a Gray and Froeschl combo block for a 12-11 LCU lead. Tied 13-13, SEU produced a pair of untimely attack errors, resulting in a 15-13 set win and a 3-2 match win. Post had five kills in the fifth set.
 
Inside the Numbers:

18-2 LCU's win moved them to 19-6 overall and to 10-1 on the road. With LCU 10-1 on the road and 8-1 at home, LCU improves to 18-2 in non-neutral site matches. 
4-1 The Lady Chaps improved to 4-1 when games go five sets. It is their fourth consecutive win, when forced to play five sets. The match was the fifth all-time between SEU and LCU to go five sets and LCU is 3-2 in those decisions.
1-3 The match was the first won this season when LCU loses the fourth set. LCU is now 1-3 on the season when dropping the fourth set.
15-0 LCU improved to 13-0 in matches in which they win the opening set, and 15-0 in matches won when winning the third set.
8 Hannah Froeschl had eight blocks, matching a career high from Oct. 22 (against UT Tyler).
20 LCU won the second set of the match 25-23. It is the 20th time (of 24 matches) in which LCU has won the set. Last season, LCU lost the second set in all 13 matches.
36 The game featured the score tied up 36 times, which marks the fourth consecutive game in which LCU had a match with at least 28 occasions the score was tied in a set. The 36 times tied is a season high.
19 Sage Chain produced 19 kills, which marked a career high.
13 LCU had 13.0 blocks, which matched a season high from Oct.22 (UT Tyler).
16 LCU's Jalee Sims with now 15 double-doubles over her past 21 matches, notched her 16th double-double of the season and it was her 26th of her LCU career.
14 The win was LCU's 15th ever in 23 meetings against SEU. LCU is now 15-8 against SEU all-time.
 
What's Next:
LCU closes out the regular season on the road Saturday in San Antonio, Texas at St. Mary's. Opening serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
