You have an opportunity to make Christmas a little brighter for a hurting child somewhere in the world.

It’s called Operation Christmas Child. Volunteer Hannah Clemen explains.

Manchester United Methodist Church is serving as a drop-off location for shoeboxes again this year. You’re invited to fill a shoebox with various items for a child.

Toys like matchbox cars, small stuffed animals and bouncing balls are favorites among the children receiving the shoeboxes. Once you fill a shoebox, you can drop if off at the Manchester United Methodist Church this week during their drop-off hours – Friday and Saturday from 9 to 11 am, Sunday from noon to 2 pm and Monday from 8 to 10 am.

Manchester United Methodist Church has served as the Delaware County drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child for eleven years. Their goal is to fill more than 1,700 shoeboxes this year.

If you don’t have time to pack a physical box, you can Build a Box Online at this link: https://sampur.se/3pDGQmX. Monetary donations to cover shipping expenses ($9/box) can also be dropped off at the Manchester United Methodist Church.

For more information, you can contact the church office at 927-4439 or go online to the Operation Christmas Child website at samaritanspurse.org.occ.
