GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids Public Schools is hosting a job fair with on-site interviews today.
The district is looking to fill 212 vacancies across the district for positions like teachers, bus drivers, grounds and maintenance staff, paraprofessionals, custodians, security guards, secretaries and cooks among others, said Adriana Almanza, GRPS talent recruitment manager.
The job fair will take place Thursday, Nov. 11 from 4-7 p.m. at GRPS University, 1400 Fuller Ave. NE.
Grand Rapids is the largest school district in West Michigan, serving over 14,000 students. The district, like many others across the state, has struggled with teacher and staff shortages that were exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.
The district held a job fair in August where there were over 200 vacancies to be filled. Almanza said 23 people were hired from that event.
School leaders say anyone who is interested in applying to GRPS can direct their questions regarding position qualifications or application procedures to Almanza at AlmanzaA@grps.org.
Interested applicants are asked to register for an on-site interview prior to the event at jobfair.grps.org.
