BROOKLYN, Ohio
Motor vehicle theft, Memphis Avenue: On Sept. 3, a Brooklyn resident called police after discovering someone stole his Ford Econoline van from a church parking lot located on Memphis Avenue.
The man said his tools -- DeWalt drill, battery, charger, stud finder and laser measure -- were inside of the van. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
Dog bite, Torrance Avenue: On Sept. 3, a resident came to the police station to report she was bitten by a dog while walking on Torrance Avenue.
The report was forwarded to the animal control officer for further investigation.
Fraud, Southfield Avenue: On Sept. 3, a Southfield Avenue resident was shocked to find two fraudulent purchases from her two credit card accounts.
The woman told the officer the combined purchases were for more than $2,000. There are no suspects.
Police are investigating.
Shoplifting, Brookpark Road: On Sept. 3, a Walmart employee observed a customer stealing merchandise from the Brookpark Road store.
An arriving officer located the Maple Heights man, who was attempting to steal more than $90 in items. He was arrested for theft.
Lost card, Brookpark Road: On Sept. 3, police were dispatched to Walmart after a customer discovered he lost his debit card while shopping inside of the Brookpark Road store.
The Parma Heights man didn’t know where in the store he lost the card. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
Suspicious vehicle, Ridge Road: On Sept. 3, a resident called in about a stolen vehicle.
The woman told the officer the silver 2002 GMC Envoy was stolen; however, police later learned the Envoy, which was found, wasn’t stolen. No charges were filed.
Disorderly conduct, Brookway Lane: On Sept. 2, police discovered a Brooklyn resident “acting in a belligerent manner” in the middle of Brookway Lane.
Due to the fact he was intoxicated, the man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
