If you're hoping to hit the beach today, you probably want to head there early as state-run beaches across the Hudson Valley are seeing higher than usual volumes.
On Sunday, some beachgoers were turned away due to capacity limitations in Rockland County.
Officials say that while state parks, beaches and pools are all open, they're only operating at 50% capacity. They will close their gates and block entry once they reach that 50% threshold, so be sure to check parks.ny.gov for capacity alerts and closure announcements.
People at the park tell News 12 that July 4th felt back to normal with fireworks and barbecues after a year of quarantining.
