OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – Firefighters early Wednesday, Nov. 3, rescued a woman whose car landed upside down in a water-filled ditch after a crash.
The 42-year-old Wyoming woman was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Three others in the other vehicle were treated at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital.
The crash was reported at 6:08 a.m. on Byron Road east of 32nd Avenue in Jamestown Township, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said.
The Wyoming woman was driving a Volkswagen Jetta west on Byron Road when the driver of a Ford Econoline van turned left in her path.
The collision caused her car to roll over into a ditch with water. She was trapped upside down in her car until she was freed by firefighters from Jamestown and Zeeland townships, police said.
The driver of the van, a 28-year-old Pullman man, was not hurt. Three of his eight passengers were treated at the hospital for minor injuries, police said.
