Holy Moses, there are a lot of Mount Pisgahs in the United States. But only one of them is surrounded by vineyards. Meet the Willamette Valley’s new Mount Pisgah, Polk County, Oregon American Viticultural Area (AVA). It holds almost as many surprises as there are letters in its name.
The Mount Pisgah, Polk County, Oregon AVA covers nearly 6,000 acres near Dallas and Monmouth. The new AVA includes three wineries — Amalie Robert Estate, Illahe Vineyards and Open Claim Vineyards — and 10 vineyards containing approximately 600 acres of mostly pinot noir and chardonnay.
