Missouri showed that the program was turning the corner last week in a 52-24 win over Louisiana Tech. The Tigers might be on the right path entering Year 3 of the Eli Drinwitz era. Can the momentum carry over on the business trip to “The Little Apple?”
Missouri will face off against former Big 12 foe Kansas State Saturday in Bill Synder Family Stadium. Both teams have third-year coaches, new quarterbacks, and at least one new coordinator calling the shots. The biggest difference between the two is that K-State might be a sleeping giant in its conference while Mizzou is looking to get back to consistent play.
The spit-swapping showdown could end up being one of the more enticing games of the weekend. And thanks to Mizzou’s social media team, fans of the Tigers should be feeling locked in with the latest hype video.

The video features several key moments from Thursday’s action against the Bulldogs. One shot shows new Tigers’ quarterback Brady Cook connecting with wide receiver Luter Burden for a 5-yard score just before halftime. Another clip features Tigers’ safety Joseph Carlton returning his first interception of the season for a 23-yard score. Then, there’s a hyped up Drinkwitz telling his players to “give it everything you got for four quarters.”
Not everything was perfect for the Tigers’ offense in Week 1, but there is a sense of stability moving forward. A native of St. Louis, Cook finished 18-of-27 passing for 201 yards and a touchdown. He also tacked on a 20-yard touchdown with his legs to close out the third quarter. Burden, one of the highest-rated players to ever commit to the program, finished with 3 catches for 17 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, one of which was out of the wildcat formation on a 1-yard keeper.
Mizzou’s biggest challenge will be finding a way to contain Wildcats’ wunderkind running back Deuce Vaughn. Last week against South Dakota, Vaughn rushed for 126 yards off 18 carries and averaged 7.0 yards per attempt en route to a 34-0 win.
Kickoff Saturday is set for noon E.T.
