With the Texas high school football season (hopefully) just around the corner, there are a ton of big storylines this year.

Can North Shore make it a three-peat in state titles or will Duncanville finally be able to take down the Mustangs? Alvin Shadow Creek has gone 31-1 in its first two years of varsity play, including winning the Class 5A-I state championship in 2019. The Sharks are now in Class 6A, though. Can they keep up their winning ways and make another run at a title?

In addition to the teams to watch, there are a ton of top national prospects playing in Texas high school football this year as well. MaxPreps has released its Preseason All-Texas teams and there are several Texas A&M commits and targets included.

As for Aggie pledges, North Shore wide receiver Shadrach Banks was a first-team pick on offense, one of only two wideouts to earn the honor. The 6-foot, 215-pound rising senior missed most of his junior year with a pair of injuries but still managed to earn first-team all-district honors in his short time in action. The national top-100 prospect had a huge sophomore season when the Mustangs won the MaxPreps national championship and is not fully cleared from a broke ankle that cost him the 2019 postseason. There are big expectations for Banks this year.

On defense, Denton Guyer four-star cornerback Deuce Harmon was also a first-team pick. The 5-foot-9, 185-pounder committed to the Aggies in late May over Texas and Notre Dame. He helped Guyer reach the state title game as a junior, recording 45 tackles, nine pass breakups, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Harmon is also one of the top return men in the state.

On the second-team offense was Denton Guyer four-star quarterback Eli Stowers. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound dual-threat passer was A&M's first commitment in the class when he announced for the Aggies last summer. Stowers threw for 2,969 yards with 36 touchdowns and only four interceptions while also running for 1,166 yards and 11 more scores as a junior. He suffered an injury in the championship game that required surgery but is expected to be back at full strength in time for district play.

Also on the second-team offense was A&M offensive tackle commit Reuben Fatheree. The 6-foot-8, 305-pound four-star prospect, who is also a standout basketball player, has helped Richmond Foster to be one of the top teams in Greater Houston over the past three seasons. The No. 137 overall player in the country per the industry-generated 247Sports composite, Fatheree committed to the Aggies early last month.

A number of A&M targets also made the teams.

The first-team offense had five-star class of 2022 quarterback Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll, who was named the National Sophomore of the Year for the 2019 season. Also on the first-team offense were Houston Cy-Fair national top-50 running back LJ Johnson and Katy Taylor offensive guard Bryce Foster. Both have Crystal Ball predictions in favor of the Aggies.

On defense, DeSoto's Shemar Turner and Katy's Malick Sylla were both first-team picks on the line and both are major A&M targets. Turner will be a senior this season while Sylla will only be a junior. Another junior-to-be, North Shore cornerback Denver Harris, is a major Aggie target and made the first team.

The second-team offense has two class of 2022 linemen with A&M offers. They are four-star Devon Campbell of Arlington Bowie and Jaylen Early of Duncanville. The second-team defense also has a class of 2022 Aggie target from Duncanville in four-star defensive end Omari Abor.
