A suspect arrested on assault charges in a life-threatening stabbing Tuesday allegedly told his sister that “Jesus and the spirit” told him to commit the stabbing, Mobile police said Wednesday.
Wesley Bodan, 23, allegedly told his sister to call paramedics “because Jesus and the spirit told him to stab the victim” around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 6400 block of Belwood Drive West, police said.
The victim was Life Flighted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Bodan fled the scene before police arrived but was later taken into custody, police said.
