MENOMONIE (WQOW) - The Wisconsin Foster Closet in Menomonie is asking for more clothes after people dumped garbage in their donation bin.
The bin was recently filled with garbage, small weapons and ripped clothes so it had to be closed.
The director of the foster closet, Jessica Hansen, said one volunteer also found clothing stained with bodily fluids.
The foster closet is 100% donation-based. Hansen said the foster kids they serve deserve proper clothing and respect.
"We had a volunteer come across a lot of clothing that was stained with bodily fluids," Hansen said. "These kids have gone through quite a lot in their lives and they deserve to feel cared for and appreciated. We want to provide them with something that is theirs and give them a little bit of dignity.
The Wisconsin Foster Closet accepts gently used clothing ranging from newborn size all the way up to 4 XL.
