Today will be another gorgeous day with a cool morning and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. Some perfect weather to celebrate mom. #HappyMothersDay

Happening tonight the NASA launch of the Black Brant XII sounding rocket from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia will attempt to launch once again. This kind of launch will provide an interesting sight in the northeast sky at 8:03 p.m.

The barium vapor clouds emitted from the rocket’s payload will generate a magnetic field perturbation that could energize electrons. The process is similar to how auroras develop over the planet’s polar regions.
