Girls Nite In Online, an educational platform, was originally established—and continues--to provide an opportunity for currently unemployed or underemployed workshop presenters from all industries who showcase their skills by presenting a 30-minute workout or workshop through Zoom. Viewers offer voluntary donations to presenters through Venmo’s “Virtual Tip Jar.” GNI takes no fees from viewer donations to presenters.
The Girls Nite In website features supportive video shoutouts from actress and author Tori Spelling, actress Alysia Reiner and basketball star Lisa Leslie, who applaud the effort to help talented women, who are currently unemployed or suffering a drop in income, share their skills and knowledge with a wider audience and earn some income. “For the week before Father’s Day, we wanted to do something really special,” explains Shelly Fisher, founder of Girls Nite In and head of the PIF Group. “So, during the first part of the week, we are featuring three amazingly talented men—a singer, a singer/composer and a prominent actor—to share their tricks of the trade. In the second part of the week, we have two Father’s Day programs for children and a Friday Happy Hour workshop, featuring how to prepare pizza and pair it with the right wine or beer.”
Interested potential Girls Nite In presenters are encouraged to visit gnionline.com, register and submit a video in which they describe themselves and their proposed workshop. No elaborate video equipment is required. A presenter can even just have a friend hold a cell phone to transmit the workshop through Zoom.
