All 100 slots at the Englewood Sports Complex were filled by appointment early Wednesday.
ENGLEWOOD —All appointments have been filled for a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site on Thursday hosted by The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota at the Englewood Sports Complex.
To date, DOH Sarasota has tested more than 3,000 community members for COVID-19 during its community-based testing events.
The testings are primarily open to anyone currently experiencing symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell) or who works in a health care setting; however, additional slots may be available at future testing sites.
While these are primarily drive-thru sites, DOH Sarasota can accommodate walkups and people on bicycles.
To be evaluated and to make an appointment, call 941-861-2883 on Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Florida Department of Health continues to see new positive cases across the State. Visit flhealth.gov/covid-19 for the most current case count and county specific data.
The health department issued an additional Public Health Advisory on June 20 in response to COVID-19, providing recommendations to protect Floridians and visitors from this virus. Visit bit.ly/2NrvY7w to see the full advisory and recommendations.
DOH Sarasota recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
