Chase Sui Wonders’ star is burning bright. When she isn’t playing Niki character on Betty and Riley on Generation, the 25-year-old Harvard graduate can be found indulging in artsy pursuits. Last week that meant checking out a 25th-anniversary screening of Julian Schnabel’s film, Basquiat, with sister Jeannie Sui Wonders, then heading home to watch Generation’s midseason premiere. With that much excitement crammed into a 24-hour-period, Wonders needed to dress accordingly.
Wonders’ events were on opposite ends of the spectrum. The first was a Chanel-sponsored fête at the Tribeca Film Festival that brought out luminaries like Schnabel, stylist Kate Young, and actress-journalist Hailey Gates, while the second was a cozy evening spent with family. Thankfully, Chanel is the right choice for every situation. The crisp white vest and sequined trousers from the brand’s spring/summer 2021 collection selected by Wonders and stylist Thomas Carter Phillips carried the star through the evening. Chic as they were, the pieces were still casual enough that Wonders could enjoy a post-premiere catnap in them before munching on some Milk Duds with her little sister.
Below, the rising star takes Vogue through her glamorous night out.
