ST. GEORGE, Utah — Another day, another pair of victories at the PCSC Conference Championships for Amanda Anderson and Montana White. Both have upped their tally to three total (two individual, one team) titles so far on the weekend as Anderson took home the 400 IM while White took first in the 200 Free. The Cougars will look for another strong day ahead as the overall team standings will be decided on the final day, tomorrow.
How it Happened (Day 3): The first event of the day was the 100 Fly which Emily Rigsby of Azusa Pacific qualified for the final heat and placed seventh in the finals race with a time of 58.07.
Then, Anderson took home first in the 400 IM with a strong time of 4:27.38 edging out a pair of swimmers at the finish that were within a couple of seconds. The Cougars followed that up with another victory, this time White took home the 200 Free with a time of 1:50.61. Riley Smith qualified for the final heat and took seventh place to pick up valuable points for Azusa Pacific with a time of 1:54.35.
In the final event of the day, the Cougars placed third in the 400 Medley relay as they finished with a time of 3:54.85. The first leg was swam by Marci Yanagawa, followed by Delanie Gearing, Rigsby, and White.
Azusa Pacific currently is in third place with 665 points going into the final day, a pair of teams sit just behind the Cougars as tomorrow could be an exciting day down to the wire.
Up Next: Day four begins tomorrow morning at the PCSC Conference Championships which are taking place at the Dixie State Aquatic Center. The events will go in order as follows beginning with the prelims starting at 9:30 a.m. (Mountain Time): 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 400 Free Relay, 1650 Free.
