A castle-like Los Angeles megamansion that’s seriously eccentric, even by La La Land standards, has sold for $16.8 million.
The whimsical property, spanning more than 15,000 square feet, is packed with standout features including a great room with 35-foot-high, triple-vaulted ceilings and a huge replica of the iron throne from HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” There are also arched windows, stately fireplaces and a fantastical jungle room with verdant, faux plant-covered walls.
The home’s other fantasy-inspired decor includes a “Harry Potter”-themed apothecary cabinet and a backyard inspired by “Alice in Wonderland.”
The seven-bedroom home changed hands Thursday, listing records show, for a final sale price that was some $5 million shy of the original sticker price of almost $22 million. It hit the market in January.
As well as its unique mix of Italian Romanticism, medieval style and fantasy flair, the three-story property also boasts a custom bar room, a family room, a chef’s kitchen, a pool and spa, a sports court and a six-car subterranean garage, according to the listing, which was held by Sam Collins and Mauricio Umansky of The Agency.
It’s “an enchanting property steeped in unrivaled elegance,” reads the listing. “Rooted in imaginative design, this home’s distinct features and one-of-a-kind spaces delight at every turn.”
A deed for Thursday’s sale has yet to be made public, and as such, Mansion Global couldn’t identify the home’s new owner.
The house, which is tucked away in the heavily star-studded Beverly Ridge Estates, was sold by Robert Rivani, a real estate and hospitality investor, and his wife, Krystal, who bought the home in 2019 for $13.765 million, records with PropertyShark show.
“Being ‘extra’ is everything to us,” Krystal Rivani told The Wall Street Journal in October, when the couple made the home available to rent for $150,000 a month. “It makes life fun and interesting and memorable.”
